All creative business branding projects will pass through 5 phases.

Please contact me at least 5 months prior to when you want to launch your new brand.

The whole process from start to finish will be about 3 months. However, I’m usually booked around two months in advance, so get in touch sooner to hold your spot in my queue.

Pre-phase: Initial Consultation

I am usually booked about two months in advance. It is thus best to contact me at least 5 months prior to when you want to launch your new brand. As mentioned before, I charge R250 for a face-to-face meeting in the Cape Town area, or you can opt to meet me on Skype, free of charge. After our initial consultation, you can expect a quote from me within 3 working days, depending on the complexity of our project.

Pre-phase: Project quotation

After I send you your first quote, you can change and add to that quote until you are completely happy with it. Once the quote is approved, I will make up an invoice for the deposit, which is always the full design fee. I then kindly ask you to complete the deposit payment to hold your spot in my queue. You can sign and send the invoice and T&Cs back to me, and keep a copy for yourself.

Pre-phase: Timeline

Once the deposit payment has been paid and the terms signed, I will send over a detailed schedule for our project together. It will include the entire process from start to finish and when you can expect your designs, mock-ups, final files, etc. In this schedule I will also give you specific times for your ‘due homework’ (questionnaires, pin boards and required content information). Creating a detailed schedule will allow us both to stay focused and make sure that everything is ready on time.

Phase 1: Your Homework

Before we can start, I will give you some homework to prepare for our upcoming project. I will send you the necessary questionnaire for you to answer to ensure we are on the same page prior to your project start date. This questionnaire will provide valuable information for me as I start the design process. I also ask you to create a detailed secret Pinterest board, full of inspiration from colours, patterns, outfits, decor and interiors, etc.

Phase 1: Find your brand personality

This is where the party starts! Once I study your questionnaire and Pinterest board I will put together the first presentation. This presentation will include a style board, colour palettes and inspiration for type, layout and design. This will be your opportunity to make sure that you agree with where I want to take the design of your project.

Phase 2: Design & develop

Once this presentation is approved and within a maximum of 10 business days you will receive your first of three drafts to review and give feedback. A maximum of three drafts are included with the price of your logo development. If any additional drafts are required, a R350 per hour charge will be added to your next invoice. Please note that this is rarely necessary and I will guide and help you along the way to make sure we get exactly what you are looking for.

Phase 3: Visual language

Once the final draft of the logo is approved, I will continue to create a visual language for your new brand. This will help you to see how your logo lives together with all the other branding elements and how we will roll that CI out on the rest of your collateral. I will now send your new CI documents to you and the final files for the logo, including fonts and colour breakdowns.

Phase 4: Brand roll-out

Once the visual language is established, I will roll that new CI out onto all other payed for elements, like business cards, letterheads or packaging. Three drafts of revisions are included in the price for each element. Once the design for these elements are approved, I will make up final production files for you to approve.

Phase 4: Production

Once all the production files are approved, I'll get a production quote for you. If you approve this cost, I will send all relevant files to be produced. Once produced/printed, I will pay for production on your behalf and send you a White Kite Studio invoice to be paid before I deliver the final products.
