FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Of course you have some questions! But before you give me a call, check this list below,

as you may find someone has saved you the trouble and already asked me.

I’M NOT IN CAPE TOWN, NOW WHAT?

No problem! Most of my business is done via the internet and I’ve successfully worked with clients all over the globe. We could arrange a Skype call to discuss your needs and ideas “face-to-face”. After that I will send you proofs via email and overnight courier physical final products.

WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT POLICIES AND

WHAT PROCESSES DO YOU FOLLOW?

I require the full design fee as a deposit before I can start work on any project. You can transfer electronically via EFT. It’s possible to split projects up in order to lower the initial costs, however, this is not possible when opting for a package deal. All production costs are due before any physical items can be delivered.

For more information on the processes and timelines I follow, please have a look at these pages for custom wedding stationery or creative business branding.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M NOT SATISFIED?

At the beginning of the design process I do a consultation with you. After that I will send you a “style board”  to make sure our ideas  are on the same page. When you purchase a package you will pay the full design fee as a non-refundable deposit. If you feel we are not creating the design and look that you wanted to achieve after the first three drafts, we will do another consultation at no extra charge to find out where things went wrong and talk about the next steps. I treat an issue like this on a case-by-case basis, but will always aim to find the best and most cost effective solution.

CAN WE MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET?

Of course! Much like a first date, we need to know if we would work well together. This consultation or briefing session usually happens after you’ve looked at my design prices and decided that my rates and design style will suit you. I charge R250 for a face-to-face meeting (in the Cape Town area), or you can opt to chat with me over Skype free of charge.

I HAVE TO GET THINGS DONE QUICKLY, CAN YOU HELP?

If you need something done really quickly, then I will see what we can do to deliver in the shortest time without compromising on quality. If you’re a bride, it is best to get in touch with me 8 weeks prior to when you want to send out your invitations. Rush service is available at an additional price for branding clients.

WHAT SETS YOU APART AND WHY SHOULD I WORK WITH YOU?

I always aim to spend more time with each client and really get to know their story. No couple or creative business is the same, so I believe that the design should reflect that uniqueness. With my branding projects I like to spend more time with my clients to build their brand as well as work with them to set goals and learn how to grow their business beyond just the new design. I look for clients who are serious about their new venture and are ready to invest into a new business identity.  I also want to step outside the box with each project I take on and look for clients who are comfortable doing just that. I love pushing the limits and trying new things!

HOW LONG WILL THINGS TAKE?

A full branding timeline passes through 4 phases and will typically take 3 months from start to finish. I don’t believe in quick fixes, I believe in quality and artistry that takes time and good effort. 3 Months allows for some ‘cushion’ time, to really let the CI develop to the best it can be.

With custom wedding stationery, you need to get in touch with me at least 8 weeks prior to when you want your invites to be sent out. I need at least 4 weeks to finalise the design and of your invitations and another two weeks for printing and production. If you only need ‘on the day’ stationery like menus, name cards or programs, then we need to get started at least 2 months before the wedding.

HOW DOES POSTAGE WORK?

Unless otherwise stated, I use a private overnight courier for all postage. The domestic price could vary from R100 to R150 for medium sized parcels. Anything bigger than A3 will be R250 or more.

WHERE DO YOU PRINT?

I prefer to work with a number of excellent printers in Cape Town and Johannesburg. I usually go for the cheapest production quote, but always demand exceptional and consistent quality.
