2017 – A year of lightness

So it’s the end of January already and I won’t lie to you, 2017 started off a little heavy. I came back from a blissful 3 week holiday and digital detox, but fell straight into a whirlpool of anxiety the moment I got back. 2017 is scaring the hell out of me right now, and here’s the reason why … change. a This year is going to be a year full of big changes for both my business and myself. Dehan and Roelandi’s chic green bushvelt wedding

So I'm obsessed with this new venue in the northern part of South Africa! Bordeaux Game Farm was the perfect backdrop for Dehan and Roelandi's celebration of love, plus their predominantly green colour palette has me weak in the knees. I've been working with Dehan over the last year on so many shoots, and it was my way of saying thank you by making them some wedding stationery pretties! We went for a super simple, single colour design with delicate leaves and textured paper. Please do yourself a favour and have a look at the full wedding on talented Nadine Aucamp's website....

Zesty Kitchen Tea Favour Tags

June and July are the gloomiest, coldest months in South Africa, so here’s a bright homemade idea to zest up a winter bridal shower! I love seasonal citrus and this is a really great favour idea that is cheap and easy to make, perfect for a winter celebration. A citrus theme can also do for fabulous décor and food, combined with sharp geometric shapes and gorgeous winter flowers like yellow, pink and white tulips. a I used the yellow from lemons and the pink from grapefruits as the colour palette to create these favour tags. It’s as simple as putting a lemon, some...

2016 – a year of firm decisions

It’s the beginning of the year and we’re all feeling hopeful. I’m always crawling at the finish line in December thinking that I just barely survived it, and then January comes along… Just saying the word makes me feel like I can do ANYTHING again. Bless January! a 2015 was one hell of a year that taught me so many lessons. It was a year of adjusting to a new city and life, overcoming a personal heartbreak, and extremely hard work.
